ABOUT

Hi there! I’m Michaela, I’m a registered psychologist and I am coming into my tenth year in practice. I have been told I’m a warm, caring, and passionate psychologist. I have worked with people from a wide variety of age groups, across cultures, identities, genders, sexual orientations, and with various presenting concerns. I have a strong focus on building a relationship with my clients, creating a safe therapeutic space, working collaboratively, and empowering them to make change in their lives. My relaxed yet focused approach to therapy enables my clients to feel genuinely supported as they develop a deeper understanding into their psyche, detangle the chaos of the mind, reconnect with themselves and develop skills to achieve their therapeutic goals.

A little more about my experience thus far.. I have worked in crisis support, case management, clinical private practice, and community settings; working across the lifespan with children, adolescents, families and adults. In some of my previous roles, I worked as the site clinical lead in a multidisciplinary adult mental health service providing mentorship, clinical consultation, treatment and linkage to external services. Prior to this I was working with children and families providing therapy, case management and advocacy and providing community outreach to schools and other services to promote mental health education.

I’m currently working in a variety of roles, including private psychological practice, as site clinical lead of a multidisciplinary youth mental health team, providing clinical supervision and I continue to contribute to education and advocacy through talks, writings, workshops, community networking and events.

On a more personal note.. I am a lover of the ocean, morning rituals, movement, yoga, coffee, connecting, learning and taking any opportunity to go on an adventure to experience the world around.
